Peterson Holding Company has a need for a Sr. Contract Review Specialist who will be based at our Hillsboro, OR location.
SUMMARY
The Senior Contract Review Specialist is responsible for working with Peterson’s Contract Review team to edit and complete customer contracts. The ideal candidate will be an experienced paralegal that is able to review a variety of legal documents in a timely manner and where necessary, recommend changes, including changes to payment terms, indemnification, warranty, limitation of liability, and damages. Previous experience reviewing construction contracts is a plus. In addition, the ideal candidate will display effective collaboration in a busy, team-oriented environment. This position is open to those in California, Oregon and Washington and can be done as a hybrid after the first 6 months of employment.

Review customer contracts for Peterson Entities (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts) including the following types:
Non-Disclosure Agreements, Sales Agreements, Purchase Orders, Consulting Agreements, Master Sales Agreements, Rental Agreements, Service Agreements.
Dealer / Distribution Agreements (resellers, agents, joint marketing etc.)
Commercial and Public (Federal, State and Local Municipalities) Contracting (including Bids)
Timely review customer contract terms and conditions and where necessary, recommend changes, including changes to payment terms, indemnification, insurance requirements, limitation of liability, warranty, and damages.
Provide redlined recommendations and as needed, negotiate directly with customer until consensus has been reached.
Complete customer prequalification and requalification paperwork and portals.
Ability to multi-task in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of correspondence regarding contract negotiations, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all contracts.
Provide guidance on contracting practices and procedures and other contract matters to project managers or other operational staff.
Conduct annual internal seminars to educate all Peterson divisions.
Manage bond requests with sales team and insurance broker.
Must be in-office the first 6 months of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college OR an associate degree in paralegal studies; and a minimum of five years of directly related experience in contract review/administration, preferably in a construction or heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
